This is our VW Transporter 6.1 Highline LWB, based in East Ayrshire — about 40 minutes from the M74 and the south side of Glasgow. From here you're well placed for Loch Lomond, the North Coast 500, the west coast islands, Glencoe, or wherever the road happens to take you. At 5.3m long, 2.2m wide (mirrors) and 2.1m high, she's easy to drive and simple to park — small enough for tight village streets and single-track roads, but with everything you need already on board. Wake up by a loch one morning, a quiet glen the next.
It's in excellent condition and professionally converted, with a proper kitchen setup — fridge, freezer, hob, sink and full cooking equipment supplied, plus a microwave you can run off the inverter if you're not on hookup. A hot meal is just as easy parked up on a hillside as it is on a campsite. There's gas heating for the colder Highland nights, a dinette that turns into a proper spot for dinner or a game of cards, and a swivel passenger seat so the front of the van becomes part of the living space. Air conditioning and cruise control make the longer stretches easy, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto means your music or podcasts are sorted. It sleeps two comfortably, or four if you use both the pop-top and the rock-and-roll bed downstairs — being the long-wheelbase version, there's a bit more room to stretch out than most vans this size.
The electrics are set up properly for going off-grid — a 230Ah lithium battery, 300W solar panel and 2000W inverter — so you can find somewhere quiet and stay a couple of days before you need to think about a hookup again.
Included at no extra cost: duvet, sleeping bag, a Duvalay mattress topper, pillows, bed linen, bath towels, tea, coffee, sugar and milk, and a welcome basket to get you started. Dogs are very welcome. If you'd like more kit, we can add a Thule bike rack, a Thule external storage box, or a driveaway awning for a small additional charge.
