Our lovingly converted van has become unusable for our family due to the arrival of beautiful baby boy in February. We don’t want to part ways with the van just yet after putting many hours of effort into converting her into a compact and sustainable campervan. The van will be available from April as we still have work to complete it; I will send updated photos of the conversion if you make a booking before the start of our rental period:
We are located in Huddersfield but can drop the van off at the following cities for the cost of the train ticket on the day if you plan to arrive by train:
- Manchester
-Leeds
- Wakefield
- Sheffield
- Derby
- Preston
- Bradford
-Oldham
Dogs are welcome! There is a restraint lead we use for our own dog that means they’re safe in the back and can be left outside clipped in to a dead bolt at the back of the van so you can rest easy that they can enjoy the great outdoors but not run away! If you would like a long line added into the kit please let us know: See picture at the end of the photo reel.
We are using the rental of the pickle jar (named after our dog Gherkin) to support us on maternity and paternity leave. Your booking would make us so happy that it is still getting enjoyed by someone! We have had many enjoyable adventures across Scotland, wales and Yorkshire in her.
The camper will have the following once the conversion is finished:
- Gas hob (gas will be provided and we will provide a copy of the gas certificate for peace of mind!)
- a portaloo located underneath a fold up section of the bed, no one wants to go outdoors in the middle of the night!
- sheep’s wool insulation for the ultimate winter camping trip
- solar panels, a 12v charging port, 12v lights and a rechargeable electric tap
- 2x camping chairs
- dog restraint which is clipped into a bolt on the back of the van
- a dog bed if requested and dog bowls
- cooking gear (plates/cups/pans/utensils/lighter/bowl/strainer)
- basic cooking supplies
(salt/pepper/sugar/tea/coffee/hot chocolate)
- 9.5 litre water jugs connected to a bowl and an electric tap
- fan
- side window
- emergency car equipment
- duvet / pillows on request
- a portable camping fire pit (this will only be provided when the weather is damp or mild to reduce the risk of wildfires)
- binoculars
Please send through any suggestions on amenities that would make your stay enjoyable.
We recently had all of the fuel injectors replaced on the van, hence our reluctance to sell it. The MOT came back without any faults or advisories so you can be rest assured that it drives well and it is very economical for long journeys across the country.
