No pets allowed, sorry! And I'd say 6ft is the tallest you could be before being uncomfortable in the van.

Description of Bed: Homer sleeps up to three adults. There is a fixed standard-sized double bed at the rear (190cm/6ft long, 135cm/4ft6 wide) with a permanent mattress (Emma Hybrid Premium Mattress) and a 10.5 hypoallergenic duvet. Two firm and two soft pillows with white cotton pillowcases. Fresh white linen is provided - fitted mattress sheet, flat sheet and duvet cover. The seating area also pulls out to create a single bed (190cm/6ft long, 90cm/ 3ft wide) sized area with 10cm deep firm foam cushions. A single duvet & pillows can be provided if the seating area will be used as an additional sleeper.
Description of Seating: There are three belted seats in the front (including the driver) with 2 headrests (middle seat doesn't have one). All three seats have three-point belts. In the rear, there is a three-person L-shaped seating area. And two outdoor stool chairs are provided.
Description of Electrical Setup: Homer is set up for off-grid adventures and comes equipped with a Smart solar system, allowing you to power your devices even when you're off-grid. There is a Victron energy electrical system including a 300w/25amp isolated DC-DC charge (to charge battery from van engine), a 12v Smart solar MPPTs (100/50 for 2x200w solar panels), and a 12v 460ah Fogstar Drift lifepo4 battery. There is a Renogy 3000w inverter which provides 230v to a standard 3-pin UK plug socket (for kettle and toaster). A Victron 30-amp charger is present to allow plugging in to campsite electrical points (using the provided adapter) so the battery can be charged externally. There are 3 warm white dimmable LED ceiling spotlights, skylight built-in light, shower extractor fan light, several USB and USB-C sockets, a 12v 50-litre CamperCool CR50X compression fridge (with freezer compartment), a 900w multi-function microwave, a built-in induction hob, a 720p mini projector with retractable screen and Roku for Netflix/Disney/streaming, and a 2kw diesel heater.
Cooking Equipment: Homer has all you need to stay well fed - a single ring built-in induction hob, a 900w microwave, a kettle, a toaster and a portable camping stove (with two butane cannisters) should you wish to go al fresco. A 50L fridge with freezer compartment. Plus 2 porcelain mugs, 2 dinner plates, 2 side plates, and 2 bowls. There is 24-piece stainless steel cutlery, silicon cooking utensils, a bottle opener/corkscrew, 2 acrylic wine tumblers, a chopping board, two steak knives, a 24cm frying pan and a medium saucepan with lid. The kitchen has an oak countertop, a black stainless steel sink, and a mixer tap with extendable hose end. There are plenty of plastic storage trays around the van.
Water and Sanitation: Homer is fitted with a 100-litre freshwater tank as well as a 60-litre grey tank. He has a hot shower and novel Trobolo WandaGo separating/composting toilet, so you won’t have to worry about finding facilities on your journey. The hot water tank will hold 10 litres, enough for a shower lasting around 7 minutes before it needs to reheat. There is a sink in the kitchen area with a mixer tap and extendable hose end.
Audio/Visual Equipment: Homer has a full DAB FM radio in the cab, as well as 1080p dashcam (you can keep the sdcard to remember your travels if you wish and it'll also help in case of any accidents or issues) and permanently wired rear camera for reversing or generally seeing what's behind the van. In the rear, there is an Anker Soundcore 2 bluetooth speaker which can also be used by the Elephas Mini 720p Projector with the retractable 40-inch projector screen. I've also added a Roku usb stick which allows streaming of your own Netflix, Disney, Paramount iPlayer, etc so you don't need to pause your show viewing whilst travelling. And guest mode means that when you check out, it'll erase all your login details so you're not leaving them for the next travellers.
Communication: Homer has a 4G huawei wifi router (with unlimited data, using the EE/BT network - which had the widest coverage across the UK at time of install).
Type of Heating: Homer has a 2kw Lavaner Pro diesel heater with 3 air ducts around the van. Water heating is courtesy of a Bobil Vans 10L tank (heated directly via the lithium battery, indirectly by solar). There is also a Maxxair extractor fan in the shower. Above the bed is a Fiamma 40cm skylight with a mesh net/blind and built-in led lights, and 2 sliding side-windows - one next to seating area and one at foot of the bed for ventilation.
Pet Information: No pets allowed.
Parking: Parking for one car/small van is available when you hire Homer.
Extra Information: Homer also comes with a Fiamma F80S 3.7m awning, two wooden folding outdoor stool chairs, LED "candles", blackout curtains for all windows, dustpan and brush, and a hanging clothes dryer with pegs! And the option for two plastic 35L bins with lids for storage in the garage/under-bed area. For your safety, there is a fire extinguisher, smoke-carbon monoxide detector and a first aid kit.
Clean Air/Low Emissions Zones: Homer is allowed to enter all cities with emissions controls due to being a CAT6 2023 van. Only possible charges are the London Congestion Charge and the Oxford Zero Emissions charge. All Clean Air cities like Edinburgh, Bristol, Newcastle, Aberdeen and such are fine. He's been registered with the Govt for this also.
Conversion Story: Homer began life as a humble panel van (albeit one with air-con in the cab). He had very low mileage and was in near-perfect condition and was diligently converted in 2026 by myself in Alston, Cumbria. He is my second conversion that is available to rent but likely my last sadly!
About the Owner: My name is Chris and I experienced an Airstream trailer whilst travelling in the USA. I wanted to experience something similar in the UK that was more practical and that's where the idea of a DIY campervan conversion was born. I did a Mercedes Sprinter prototype conversion in 2022/23 for my own use and I caught the bug. Carly was my second conversion, a 2017 Peugeot Boxer that has proved popular since hiring out in Autumn 2025. But Homer is the result of all my learnings from the previous conversions. From my own solo travels, I have tried and tested many setups, settling on the belief that an off-grid full solar setup with shower, loo, an electric kitchen and fixed bed are the best choices for most folk - and so I built Homer to that very spec.
