NOTE: You book with us per day instead of per night. So pick up early and return late. For example, if you want to leave from Friday to Sunday, you choose Thursday evening as departure time, and Sunday evening as return time. You then pick up the camper on Friday morning and return it on Sunday evening. You then pay for three days.
e-Fixxter XXL
Finally there is an electric motorhome with a range large enough for a nice and sustainable holiday!
Our electric camper (no. 2) is based on the large Peugeot e-Expert and converted by Fixxter. The camper looks fantastic, and has every conceivable luxury such as automatic transmission, Android Auto / Apple Carplay, climate control and keyless entry / start. It actually feels and drives like a normal passenger car. Parking is therefore also very easy, especially with the reversing camera and parking sensors at the front and rear.
The conversion has been realized with beautiful materials where 100% electric has been the starting point. So no more cooking or heating with gas, but everything via the battery or the mains. A large capacity of solar panels is of course not lacking, nor is an extra large household battery of 200 Ah. So a day or 2-3 off-the-grid camping is certainly possible.
The most important features at a glance:
- A nice wide bed with a comfortable mattress topper of 140×200 cm
- A sleeping lifting roof for standing space and an extra bed of 110x200 cm, also with a comfortable topper
- A two-seat bench seat with belts and swivel front seats
- Bed linen and pillows included
- Easy to use awning with sunshade
- Camping table with 2-4 comfortable chairs
- A kitchen with electric hob, Nespresso machine, kettle, sink, spacious fridge and eating/cooking utensils
- Four solar panels on the roof to go completely off-the-grid if necessary
- Chemical toilet with organic flushing agent
- Connection for the power supply of the campsite
- Towbar with, if desired, a bicycle carrier (surcharge € 5 per day)
250 km driving on a charge
Our electric motorhome has a range of 330 km on paper. In practice, however, count on about 250 km. How fast you drive is very important. With a speed of 100 km/h you get a lot further on a charge. The motorhome also uses regenerative braking, which recovers energy as soon as you brake. In the early days of electric driving, people often still had 'range anxiety'. With the range of our motorhome, and the large number of charging points, that is really no longer necessary.
Charging over a cup of coffee
What makes the electric camper perfectly suitable for a holiday, even to destinations further away, is its fast charging option. The Peugeot e-Expert can fast charge up to 100 kWh. That's pretty fast. It means that you can top up at about 400 km per hour. In other words, you can be on your way again in 30-45 minutes if you want.
In practice, this means that you are driving for about 2-3 hours, and then stop for a cup of coffee or lunch. This way you travel in a very relaxed way and you arrive well rested. If you want to get from A to B as quickly as possible, it is better not to rent our camper (perhaps even better not to take a camper at all ;-) ).
No charge card? No problem!
With current energy prices, electric driving is about as expensive as less sustainable alternatives such as diesel or petrol. If desired, you will receive a charging card from us, so that you do not have to worry about anything. We will then settle the costs afterwards.
To see where you can charge, use the navigation of the motorhome or an app on your phone (e.g. Shell Recharge or Chargemap). With around 300,000 charging points in 35 countries, there is always one nearby. And at the campsite you simply plug into the socket.
