This is Frits, our self-converted 2009 Volkswagen T5 Transporter.
In early 2025, we bought this van and fully converted it into a self-sufficient camper in 6 months. We have been traveling all year. From the Picos de Europa to the Sahara Desert, Fritsje has seen it all.
We decided not to travel this summer, so our van is available for your adventure!
What makes our campervan special is the height. This means you can always stand inside, and there is plenty of extra cupboard space available. We opted for a layout with both two seats and a full 160cm x 180cm bed. Please note! If you are much taller than 180cm, your feet will hang over the mattress 😉
Despite the height of the bus, it still has the small footprint of a T5. This allows you to reach many places, even where larger campers can no longer make it.
The bus is fully self-sufficient thanks to the dual battery and three solar panels. This allows you to camp off-grid continuously, while the refrigerator and all electrical appliances continue to work as usual.
Our van may be small and cute, but it is still equipped with many features. Among others:
- Fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, sink, and running water.
- 30L refrigerator that can run continuously.
- Atmospheric interior lighting
- USB-A and USB-C charging ports on both sides of the bed.
- Portable battery with power outlet.
- Large storage space under the bed.
- Curtains all around, and a full blackout set.
- Large canopy so you can always sit in the shade.
- Foldable travel toilet and outdoor shower.
- simple foldable bed. (Switch between bed and seat within 20 seconds)
In short, everything you need for your next adventure. We would love to help you on your way, whether this is your first trip or your hundredth. If you are interested, get in touch with us, and we hope to make you just as enthusiastic about vanlife as we are! 😁
See you soon,
Lea and Tygo
