Nostalgic Oldtimer on LPG, 2/4p, fixed bed, roof racks.

Nostalgic classic / retro camper on LPG. Top of the range 80s luxury, almost in original condition with nostalgic woodwork and rattan and real tiles. But in the meantime also decorated with solar panels, LCD TV, radio CD player with Bluetooth, extra sockets (220V, 12V, USB), modern bicycle carrier, larger (normal and blind spot) mirrors, extra belts in the back (not mandatory at the time), roof racks, and recently a new awning. Well maintained, in excellent technical condition. Cozy, neat, and with a very complete inventory (also for outside).

Runs on LPG: cheap, more environmentally friendly than diesel, and no/less trouble with environmental zones. Due to a fixed 2p bed in the back (in a kind of separate bedroom) very suitable for touring with two or even wintering. But also suitable as a family camper for a family with smaller children: the dining table can be turned into a 2p dinette bed, but this is only 180 long. The camper has a bicycle carrier suitable for 2 adult and 2 children's bicycles. Thanks to roof racks, plenty of options for transporting roof boxes, kayaks, surfboards, etc. There is a custom-made bracket on the ladder at the rear on which an outboard motor can be transported. The camper has a shower/toilet room, but the shower is not used (besides the fact that there is no boiler in the camper, the hardboard walls are too vulnerable for this. We do have (since the corona) an outdoor shower tent with solar shower available.

Some considerations for this camper:
- the camper runs on LPG (and of course also on petrol). Environmentally friendly, and also runs wonderfully cheaply. No diesel noise, no diesel smell, and virtually no problems with urban environmental zones. LPG is cheap and easy to obtain in many European countries (Benelux, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and many Eastern European countries). There are also various special LPG tank apps, which can be linked to navigation.
- the camper has a normal view to the rear through the rearview mirror due to the old-fashioned low bed with large rear window. (Modern campers now have the bed in the back very high). The camper therefore has no reversing camera.
- the camper is ideal for two people to go out for a longer period in the early or late season, or even to overwinter. Due to the separate 'bedroom' no hassle with converting the table, a very good gas heater (but also an electric heater), solar panels, two large gas bottles. The refrigerator can run on 12V (while driving), 230V ('shore power'), and 'off the grid' possibly also on gas.
- the camper is also very suitable for families with young children. The seating area can be converted into a max 135 wide (but only 180 long) dinette bed. The seating area is located directly behind the driver's area (so children within reach), has a large low window and a view to both sides (so less car sickness). The later built-in lap belts can be used to secure child seats or maxicosis.

Limitations of this camper:
- The motorhome's engine was partly overhauled in 2023. But older motorhomes like this one don't have the engine power of new motorhomes. With this motorhome you can easily drive a cruising speed of 90 km/h (in flat terrain) (the top is a bit higher), and that really feels hard enough in our experience.
- Hilly terrain is fine, but for real high mountains this camper is not suitable because of driving on petrol/LPG (petrol and certainly LPG has less pulling power in the mountains than diesel). The Alps, the Pyrenees, the Tatra, Southern Norway or Scotland as a destination is therefore not a good idea. It is ideal for France, Germany, large parts of Scandinavia or Eastern Europe. Crossing mountains by motorway to Italy or Spain, for example, is also fine, but the Alps, Pyrenees, Carpathians, Southern Norway or Scotland as a destination will not work. We are too careful with our old camper for that!
- Given its age and somewhat lower power/speed, this camper is not suitable for covering a large distance in a short period. In our own experience, 500 km per day is already quite a lot, we do not think that for days on end is a good idea for this camper. So there has to be a bit of a balance between the duration of the request and the destination. We do not think a week in Italy or a weekend in Denmark is a good idea. That does not do justice to the camper, it is still a bit of a relaxed camper!

EXTRA OPTIONS for this camper:
- bed linen service.
The camper is equipped with clean and fresh and moltons/mattress protectors and sheets as standard, you do not have to bring these yourself. But for 25 euros per person per week extra you can also rent fresh summer duvets (1x2p and 2x1p), pillows, covers and towels that we will then wash for you.
- additional rental of kayaks.
We have a 2p 'Norwegian kayak' (a cross between a canoe and a kayak: a large open compartment with 2 sliding seats), which can accommodate 2 adults plus possibly 2 small children (max 6 years). Suitable for flat water such as rivers and lakes, but NOT for white water or the sea. We also have a 1p combi-kayak (also suitable for somewhat wilder streams). Both include accessories such as paddles, a waterproof barrel, possibly life jackets, etc. Costs 100 and 50 euros per week.

PLEASE NOTE: RENTAL PERIOD AND PRICES!
For this camper, a different minimum rental period is specified for different periods. In high season (May holiday + July/August) the camper can only be rented for a minimum of 1 week. In the pre- and post-season (September to October, and April to June) the minimum rental period is set to 5 days/nights.
In the low season (November to March) the minimum rental period is 3 weeks. This has to do with the fact that I may have to take the camper out of storage and put it back in the road tax, while the 'revenue' is minimal due to lower rates. (A 20% commission for Goboony and 20 euros per day for a day insurance are deducted from the daily rate of the renter.) In this low season the long-term booking discount stated in the advertisement is therefore not applicable, keep this in mind (I cannot set it per season...). However, in consultation in the low season with a really long booking (min 2 months, e.g. overwintering) a lot is possible with regard to the price!! We also have a strong but less nostalgic diesel camper that is suitable for mountains and covering larger distances in a short time. This is also on Goboony. For both, it applies that we have invested quite a lot of money, time and energy in making them to our liking, and that we are quite careful with them. We therefore expect renters to treat them carefully and normally, and only rent them out if we have a good feeling about the prospective renters. Conversely, prospective renters can of course always come and have a look at the camper before booking and possibly take a test drive to see if the camper meets their expectations.
