I'm hereby offering my self-constructed campervan. I've been renovating it for over three years. A lot of time, money, and passion went into it. Now it's time to share my creation with the world. It's a super cool campervan, if I do say so myself :p. It's a huge enrichment to explore planet Earth with this "spaceship." If I could, I'd be constantly on the road, but unfortunately, we also have to work for our money. This way, I hope to create the best of both worlds! Ready for a unique experience without too much compromise on comfort? Start your engines...
Let's start with the refined interior: The bed is 1.40 m wide, and mind you, not 2 meters long. It's 1.95 m at the back and 1.90 m further forward. So if you're taller than this, it might not be very comfortable. It does have an Emma mattress, which, according to Test-Buy, was the best mattress at the time (yes, I cut off pieces :D). The thermostat for the heating is located next to the bed, in case it felt a little too cold in the morning. This heating uses diesel from the car's own tank. The reading lights are dimmable, and you can use them to charge your phone. The cables are included. At the foot of the bed, there's storage for clothes, etc. When you get out of bed, you'll find the multifunction box on the right. You can sit on it and eat at the table. Remove the lid and you'll find the shower with a hanging wraparound shower curtain. Beware, the boiler isn't very large, so hot water is limited and the water pressure isn't as good as at home. Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to. Finally, we have the kitchen with a refrigerator and gas stove. The freezer is only suitable for ice cubes, not for food. Under the bed is the "garage" with storage space and utility rooms.
Now, let's move on to the exterior! Bring up to two bikes on the bike rack at the back. Note that you'll need to deadlift these. A certain level of fitness is essential. This also applies if you want to lie down on the roof terrace! It's a bit of a climb, and you'll have to be careful not to fall off. It is, however, absolutely fantastic to enjoy the sunset. If it's raining or sunny, you can use the awning. A table and chairs are provided.
Technical: The house battery has a capacity of 200 Ah, so you can go off-grid for a while, but not for very long. The hot water heater consumes a lot of energy, followed by the refrigerator. The battery is charged while driving and also by the solar panels on sunny days. If you're at a campsite, you can connect to shore power. 12 volts DC is standard. With the inverter/charger, you can also enjoy 220 volts AC. When you're not connected to shore power, you can turn it on or off with a switch.
