Perfect host/owner Very complete explanation and always available for additional questions. For this first experience, we traveled around Normandy and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the beautifully equipped camper.
Very disappointing experience. I paid €150 in cash for an additional rental day. That day was largely lost because the gas bottle provided with the camper was empty. As a result, the fridge did not work and there was no hot water for showering. I contacted the owner, but he denied that the empty gas bottle was the cause and insisted that something else must be malfunctioning. I spent many hours troubleshooting the system, trying to understand what was wrong. I then had to spend much of the following day finding a motorhome service and purchasing a compatible gas bottle and adapter in Norway, where the fittings are different. This cost me more than €200, as shown by the attached invoices. Not to mention lost food because it spoiled in the fridge, additional fuel costs while trying to resolve the problem and extra kilometres that I had to pay at the end. The owner indicated that he would reimburse at least part of these costs, but he never did. I returned the original empty gas bottle to the owner. So he now has both the original bottle and the new bottle that I purchased and installed without reimbursing me for the replacement or adapter. I strongly recommend keeping all important communication in the Goboony chat rather than WhatsApp, so that there is a clear record. I also recommend documenting the condition and contents of the vehicle at pickup, including soap, olive oil, coffee capsules and other consumables. Make sure any additional payments are clearly documented and acknowledged, especially if cash is requested. The final inspection also felt excessively strict, with small details being used to justify additional charges or avoid reimbursement. Based on the empty gas bottle, the way the problem was handled and the failure to honour the promised compensation, I found the owner’s conduct dishonest and do not consider him trustworthy. I would not rent this camper again.
