Response from Sam & Deirdre
Many thanks Ewan, it was a pleasure having you and glad we worked out the logistical element of it all!
Sam and Deirdre were superb hosts. They prepared the van to a very high standard and the delicious home made treats were a lovely touch. Van was a delight to drive, easy to use and immaculate. Three of us stayed in it and found it served our needs very well. It's just the right size to use comfortably on the wee roads of the most remote parts of the NC500 and handled well. Plenty of power for getting up those steep hills as well.
Suffice to say we will be using them again.
Our tips if you're doing the NC500.
The Wee Campsite at Loch Carron - basic but all you need. Clean and friendly and very good value.
The Old Butchers in Loch Carron - great coffees and breakfasts.
Surf and Turf in Dornoch - really good takeaway seafood but pre-order as they get busy and you may miss out if you go at the last minute.
IV10 in Fortrose - lovely little cafe, delicious cakes, good coffee and super staff.
Applecross Inn - you probably already know but yes, delicious.
