First the good points: The van is well laid out and comfortable to sleep in. All the basic amenities and capable of camping off grid. Bad points in order of occurrence: * Second day the gas bottle ran out. We did query if there would be enough gas and were assured it was fine, but it ran out after a single night of basic cooking/boiling kettle. There was no spare gas and even worse, there was no spanner to allow us to detach the current bottle. That meant that we did a night without gas and unable to cook/boil the kettle. Third day we had to source a new gas bottle and spanner so we could change it over. It's a specific size bottle and we were lucky to get the last bottle available from the closest gas place. This could have been a lot worse and really ruined the holiday, we were lucky. * Windscreen washer stopped working - we let them know and were instructed to have a look under the bonnet to try and fix it but we decline to do this. * Shower tray not draining. For unknown reason, after 2 people showering the tray was full and draining very slowly with the plug totally submerged by an inch of water. We were parked reasonably level. Not sure why this was happening but it put a big delay on any days when we decide to try the shower because we had to wait for it to drain so that we could put the toilet back into the shower try and drive away without getting water everywhere. * Most scary - carpet getting caught in the steering causing total loss of control. Luckily only in a car park, but the very cheap and thin floor mat was able to be caught in the steering and basically block it completely. This resulted in a total loss of control. Luckily this only happened at very low car park speeds, but could have been very serious indeed. Once we realised what had happened and managed get the carpet out of the steering, we removed the carpet from the driving area completely. Most suprisingly, when we told them about this incident, rather than taking our safety concerns seriously - they have instead charged us £21 to replace the now damaged carpet with a replacement - presumably the same very thin cheap carpet that can easily be caught in the steering again. If you rent this van, do yourself a favour and remove the carpet - just not worth the risk at all! We had a good time in this van, despite the niggles. The gas situation was disappointing, the shower tray was an irritation, but the carpet was dangerous and quite shocking. Steering control being pretty essential! We won't be renting this van again I'm afraid September 2024
