I had an awful experience renting this van. The owner Kenneth only informed me of a noisy cam belt issue on the day of collection, which should have been a red flag. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to make alternative arrangements and had to take the van as is.
I would not have hired the van if informed of this issue in advance.
the van broke down on Sunday night, after squealing ridiculously loudly for over 25 minutes, leaving us stranded on the way home from Glastonbury festival. We had no choice but to get towed home by the AA who repeatedly instructed DO NOT DRIVE the vehicle. This was a stressful and inconvenient end to our trip.
The owner’s lack of transparency and failure to properly address the issue both before and after renting out the van was unacceptable.
Renting a vehicle with known mechanical problems is irresponsible, especially when it compromises the safety and reliability of the trip.
I cannot recommend this van or this owner—beware of hidden issues and poor communication.
