Drifter – 2-Berth 2015 Ford Transit L3H3

Drifter is the perfect home-from-home for weekend adventures, or off-grid camping. MY L3H3 has been transformed into a bright, open living space that feels far larger than a van has any right to feel!

The previous owner spent years travelling in it across the UK and Europe, and I’ve continued that tradition, taking it down to Cornwall for countless surf trips amongst other journeys, and it's always been the perfect place to come back to after a day in the water. The bed pulls out in seconds and is genuinely comfortable — not “van comfortable”, but comfier than the bed you sleep in at home!

Inside, everything has been designed to make life simple and relaxed. There’s a two-ring gas hob, a large wooden worktop, a deep sink, and plenty of cupboards above and below for storage. The 12V fridge keeps food and drink cold, and the diesel heater means the space stays warm long after the sun goes down. The electrics system has just been upgraded to a 300ah battery with 800W of solar power, meaning you can go for days without having to turn the van on to charge up. An AirMax fan and an additional rear vent keep the space cool in the summer, and the front seats all swivel round to open up the space.

There’s a compact shower area, large fresh-water containers, plenty of USB points, 12V sockets and the option to plug into mains when on a pitch. The fan and rear vent were professionally resealed recently, and everything has been well-maintained to keep the van ready for long trips!
