Do you want to go camping in luxury and comfort? Then head out with our unique campervan!
The bus served as a work van and was always perfectly maintained. We fully converted the bus into a camper ourselves in 2024, during which the cabin also received a makeover. It is a silver model with black alloy wheels and tinted windows, giving it a 'tough' look for a bus.
Because it is a shorter van than most campers (L2H2) and is equipped with a reversing camera, it fits in all standard parking spaces, and you can even squeeze it into any free spot while parallel parking.
We opted for a lot of wood during the interior fitting, but because we chose light wood types, the camper has remained light at around 2,667 kg. Furthermore, it is equipped with everything we consider important: a good wine opener, a nice coffee maker, underfloor heating, a parking heater, and so on. The van has a luxurious finish with calm and neutral colors and a natural look due to the extensive use of wood. Rattan has also been used extensively, giving the van a unique look.
Moreover, a fixed projector is available, allowing you to host romantic movie nights on the bus! A USB stick with about 20 movies and series is also included, so you always have something to watch, even off-grid! By the way, the screen and projector can also be set up outside, so an outdoor cinema at the campsite is no problem!
The electronics are also generously equipped: the kitchen drawers close automatically as soon as the vehicle is started, and reading lights, USB ports, and power outlets are plentiful. Cabin temperature and humidity can also be quickly viewed at all times. The van features a 280Ah AGM battery that lasts at least 5 days. The van is also charged while driving and has 200Wp solar panels on the roof. This way, it is hardly necessary to plug in, allowing you to travel worry-free.
Because one of us tends to get cold easily, the bus is also equipped with all kinds of heating systems:
- Underfloor heating heats the floor up to 40°C. Easily accessible from bed so you have nice warm feet in the morning.
- An electric blanket for cold nights keeps the bed nice and warm
If all that isn't enough, there is a 2KW diesel heater available to keep things nice and warm. This is connected directly to the diesel tank, so there is no hassle with diesel tanks that might run empty.
A fully equipped kitchen is available, including crockery and cutlery, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and a pantry cabinet for oils, wines, and spices. The sink is an elegant Moroccan model, a lovely eye-catcher in the camper van. The faucet is luxuriously finished and pulls out, making washing dishes or filling large bottles easier. There is a 100-liter water tank, which should last you for quite a few days. It is connected to an automatic 3-bar water pump. Cooking is done on a 2-burner gas hob. A camping table and a set of chairs are also provided for sitting in front of the van. Additionally, there is a small folding table by the entrance, which is ideal for cooking outside or for having drinks.
The table slides in and out quickly and extends to about 160 centimeters; the table then fills almost the entire space, but this is ideal, for example, if you want to sit in the camper with several people or play an extensive board game.
We did not build a separate bathroom in the van, because this takes up a relatively large amount of space that is rarely used in practice. We do, of course, have a Porta Potti on board; this is easily accessible by removing the panels from one of the seats (which are magnetically attached). There is also a separate outdoor shower that can easily be placed in the sink; this way, you can also take a warm shower if the sink is filled with hot water. I was even able to shower with this at -1°C.
For ventilation, the bus is equipped with a skylight and a side window that can be opened, allowing the bus to air out nicely. Even in Greece in the summer, it was pleasant inside the bus thanks to this.
In the cabin, we have installed Remisfront, making it super easy to conceal the window. The passenger seat is also swivelable, ensuring optimal use of the space in the bus. A reading light is, of course, included with this 'luxury seat'.
Furthermore, the dashboard is equipped with a new onboard computer running Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, so you can easily connect your phone.
Because a roof rack is present, you can also tow larger objects. Would you like to go canoeing? Got your back. Surfboards? No problem. Kitesurfing gear? Welcome! A bike carrier can also be mounted on the included tow bar if needed. The running board at the rear makes using the large garage comfortable.
The van is fitted with Continental 'VancoCamper' tires; summer tires, which unfortunately makes the van unsuitable for the true die-hard winter sports enthusiast. However, because snow chains are on board, the van is legal to drive in most mountain areas, even in winter and in snowy conditions.
There is also a special 'stealth mode' available: By hanging black curtains, the camping area is hidden from view, and from the outside, the van looks completely like a 'regular' work van. The only things that reveal this are the camping plug port and perhaps the bright yellow Dutch license plate. This ensures that the van does not attract attention when parked in the city, for example. Of course, if you bring a bike rack or attach something to the roof rack, this does detract somewhat from the van's 'stealthiness'.
Actually, the bus turned out a lot more luxurious than we had envisioned before building it, but we are very happy with the result. So seize the opportunity and enjoy comfort in every seat!
