Our compact Volkswagen T5 campervan (2012) is suitable for a short (city) trip of 3 days or more, but also for a trip of 3 weeks or longer. We converted our van into a compact campervan in 2023 with the help of professionals to achieve an optimal layout and equipped with all conveniences such as:
- Install 5 seatbelts, including 2 Isofix points.
- 4 sleeping places in total, 2 sleeping places in the (manual) pop-up roof (120x200) and 2 sleeping places on the folded-down rear seats (110x200)
- Small kitchen with 2 gas burners and hot and cold water
- At the rear, our camper has an "external" connection for gas so that you can bring your own Scottelbraai or gas BBQ along as well.
- 2x Fresh water tank of 15 liters, grey water tank of approx. 20 liters
- The kitchen faucet is the type with a hose, so you can easily fill a bucket of (warm) water or use it as an outdoor shower.
- Small fridge with freezer compartment
- Front seats are swivelable
- Outdoor table with 2 or 4 chairs
- Lithium leisure battery (Victron) that allows you to go without power for a few days
- Solar panel for recharging the leisure battery
- Connection for (shore/camping) power, incl. cable
- 3x 220V sockets via inverter and/or shore power. So always 220V provided there is sufficient battery voltage.
- 3x2 12-volt USB connection
- Various lighting and reading lights
- For cold/winter moments, a diesel auxiliary heater is also installed that also heats the boiler.
- Various cupboards and storage spaces
- Bicycle carrier for 2 or 3 bicycles. (optional € 75 per rental period)
- Ventilation options via both the insect screens in the pop-up roof and windows
- Air conditioning while driving
In short, a camper that is perfect for off-grid camping, but also, of course, for use at a beautiful motorhome site or campsite at any time of year.
