4p Ford campervan uit 2009

Well, what should you do if you suddenly have a lot of time left during the corona period. Well, a long cherished wish come true.

So I bought a carpenter van, stripped it, cleaned it and from there converted it into this camper. I had never done it before, so I thought I could. And that turned out to be the case. After overcoming all the challenges, there is now a beautiful camper van, which is fully equipped:

- 5 seats with belts
- 4 sleeping places
- lifting roof, so you can stand while cooking or doing the dishes
- refrigerator with freezer compartment
- Stove
- sink with cold running water
- clean and dirty water tanks
- electricity with 220V inside. Thanks to an inverter, it is not necessary to connect power from outside.
- mini toilet
- lots of storage space

The camper was inspected and appraised after it was completed. All safety regulations have been met.

The advantage of this size camper is that you can place it anywhere. Also in or near the city, supermarket, restaurant or whatever. And you move quickly from A to B. In addition, it is a Euro 5 diesel and is therefore allowed in most cities. The environmental sticker for France is already on it and we were allowed to enter Paris with it.

The disadvantage is that it is quite small on the inside, so when it rains you have to make do. At the moment I have 2 separate awnings. With some crafting you can sit dry or in the shade in front of your camper.

But what is he like in practice? After all that work and tinkering, the time had finally come. I tested it thoroughly. Wife and children waved goodbye and off to Greece, Albania and all the countries you can encounter from home to there and back home again. A road trip of 6700 km. No problem. It was great and everything I made worked as it should. I drove through the Balkans proud as a peacock in my orange-black bus. I have seen and done so much. Awesome!

The nice thing was that I didn't have to use electricity anywhere. That sometimes made a difference in the price for the campsite. While driving, the battery for the indoor section charged and then it took about 4 days before it was empty again. Well, by then I had driven a bit and it was full again. And then every time a nice cold beer from my own fridge and making a small snack on the gas stove. Yes, that was all well arranged.

You arrive at the campsite and within 10 minutes everything is installed and you are enjoying your cold drink. The next morning after breakfast, everything is ready again and you can hit the road again.

The nice thing is that you can simply drive 130 on the highway. You are also much faster and more agile in city traffic, passes and narrow mountain roads than with a large and longer camper.
