Hello dear person,
This is my Lakshmi, where I have been living for two years. In the last 4.5 months I have been able to realize my dream of living a free life on the road with my father, who is a carpenter.
Now I'm at home with my boyfriend in his apartment for the winter and I wish her a new big adventure.
I will hand over Lakshmi to you with all the kitchen, camping, and car accessories so that you have the easiest transition possible and can set off fully equipped.
What is special?
She is, of course, one of a kind, because there is no one like her in the world and I can only speak highly and with a great deal of humility and trust about my loyal companion.
It is important that you know that the length of the bed is only built for people who are 1.75 m tall.
Stretching out and making yourself long in my Lakshmi is therefore only possible for people who are under 1.75 meters.
This summer I spent a night with my boyfriend, who is over 1.80m tall, but we made arrangements well: we put pillows on the kitchen area so he could stretch out and we lay together at an angle in the bed. It's not a problem at all. The bed itself is adjustable, you can pull it in and out so that you can make it comfortable on your own and also good for two people or if you like to have a lot of space to sleep, you can also stretch out.
My car is an adventure car and not a luxury van. I use it outside of campsites in nature, in the forest, on country roads and by the sea. It is the best way to get in touch with local people and you are often invited to dinner and get in touch. What makes life more beautiful than nature and connecting with people?
Now to the equipment:
Lakshmi has three seats in the front. The safety vest and warning triangle are behind the driver's seat. Papers including insurance and MOT are all in the glove compartment. Oil has been topped up, there is enough water for the windshield wipers and the battery is full.
There are two windows, a skylight that opens and closes easily and must always be closed while driving, and a window in the kitchenette.
Now go to the back. You can see a stove that runs on gas (which is also full) - it has to be turned off after every use! Spices are hanging on the top of the cupboard, which you can use until you use them up. You can find all kitchen utensils under the stove, up to the top and to the right in the drawers.
On your left side is a sink, which you can turn off with a knee kick at the height of your right knee. If you have a lot of sink space, I recommend opening the sliding door under the sink and using the water tank that way, then the water can splash and there is more space. But you can choose for yourself what will prove practical for you.
So there are two water tanks, one for waste water and one for the new water that comes out of the tap at the top.
There is a fridge next to the washing station. I will also put a second cool box in there for you, which you can also plug into sockets so that your shopping and refrigerated goods don't have to suffer too much in the height of summer. Then there is a bench that can be used when the bed is not being used as a double bed and a small seat next to the stove if you don't want to sit on the bed or outside.
Now to the electronics:
There is solar power, battery power and mainland power.
Shore power is all white sockets and switches and will only work if you have a 220V cable connected to an electrical socket at a campsite or in people's houses or public sockets. The socket for shore power is sticking out of the left side of the Renault Master.
The solar power and battery power always work for the lights in the bus. All of the small black light switches (can be used from right to left, i.e. on the far left is the switch for the light under the bed (storage), then above the bed, then in the kitchen, then under the stove and the last one above the driver's cabin (in the attic). The middle switch display is for the solar power, which you can switch on and off depending on the amount of sunlight. With constant sunlight, you can have the refrigerator, your laptop and one or more other electronic devices connected - even when driving in the sun, the plugs can be used to charge all of the devices. Otherwise, the display is important to keep an eye on how much power the solar system is using. If too much is connected, it flashes red and you can manually pull out one of your electrical devices or the refrigerator.
In addition to the switches, there are also two USB ports and a cigarette lighter socket.
The heating system:
The diesel heater is unfortunately defective and will be checked this winter.
The memory:
In the back of the bus there are two pairs of camping chairs, two wheel chocks, a box of tools, a triangular sun gazebo with poles, several pegs and ropes for attaching, a clothesline, a solar shower, firewood, spare windshield wipers and one or two boxes to store your things that you need.
New bed linen, pillows and duvets (a thick sheep blanket and a thin one for summer) are provided. I can also take them out if you prefer to use your own.
That is all the information I have to share with you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me and maybe we will see each other soon with Lakshmi.
I'm looking forward to it!
Vicky
