We're situated exactly 3 miles from Inverness Airport and if you're flying up, we're usually able to pick you up and drop you off at the airport. Flight times may not sync perfectly with standard pick-up and drop off times though as long as there is prior agreement, some flexibility may be possible to avoid long waits at the airport. No charge will be made for lifts to and from the airport.
Our VW T4 Caravelle Campervan aims to offer a more affordable way of having a campervan holiday in the highlands of Scotland.
Whilst the van is over 20 years old, it drives very well, with plenty of power and torque from its 2.5 litre inter-cooled 5 cylinder engine. The gearbox is a 5-speed manual.
It was professionally converted by a company called Murvi when bought new by my friend's father though whilst much of the conversion remains, I've fully insulated and re-trimmed the interior as well as making various upgrades in my 6 years of ownership.
It has (cold) filtered running water, sink, a new 50L 12v way fridge (the older unit appears in some photos), 4x gas burners & grill, dimmable led lighting and all the necessary cookware that 2x people would need for a trip away.
Bed linen, duvet, an extra blanket and 2x towels are included with no extra charge. A mattress topper is provided to ensure a comfortable nights sleep on the rock and roll bed.
There is mains hook-up capability when on a campsite which (as well as charging the leisure battery), provides 240v power to 2x conventional 3 pin sockets.
Otherwise, the leisure battery provides 12v power to 12v sockets, USB sockets, led lighting and also a Fusion stereo with speakers in the rear tailgate, which provides better sound than one would expect from a 50w amp. This has Bluetooth capability though also has an audio input.
There is a Propex gas heater for chilly nights and 2x roof vents for warm nights, though please note the van is not fitted with air-con.
Good quality "black-out" curtains are installed and a full set of thermo mats for the front windows are provided also.
The van comes with roofbars and a lockable roof-box (steps provided), to accommodate things like the 240v hook up cable(s), a fold-up table and 2x chairs, though it's also large enough that some smaller bags can be stored in it too, increasing available space in the van.
In addition to the stereo in the rear, the main audio system has been significantly upgraded with a Blaupunkt headunit, subwoofer, 400w amp and JL Audio door speakers. Connection is via Bluetooth or an Aux input. A Blukar phone cradle is provided also.
Conventional safety items are provided: carbon monoxide detector, fire-extinguisher, fire blanket & first aid kit.
Whilst the van is in good condition for its age, please appreciate that (as stated above), much of the original conversion is still present and it does have its imperfections. This also applies to some areas of the external paintwork. Any queries re these aspects, feel free to ask.
Please free to get in touch if you're interested or have any questions.
