After unforgettable road trips through Sweden and Norway, we decided it was time for our own campervan. That choice was Columbus, a 2006 Fiat Ducato that crisscrossed Eastern Europe with us this summer. A wonderful, reliable van that takes you smoothly from destination to destination and has everything you need for a relaxing camping holiday for two.
Under the awning, you can enjoy long evenings outdoors, comfortably seated in the fold-out chairs. Inside, you'll find ample storage for all your gear, games, and supplies, with handy compartments for small items.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator, kettle, and utensils – everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. You can cook indoors on the countertop, or outdoors if you prefer. In the morning, you can easily make your first cup of coffee in the French press thanks to the kettle.
Colombus features a new mattress on a pull-out bed (1.40 x 2.00 m) and blackout curtains in the back, ensuring complete darkness and a wonderful night's sleep. There are two skylights, one of which is equipped with air conditioning for extra cooling on hot days.
The camper can be connected to a power source, but thanks to the solar panel, you'll also have plenty of power when you're not on the road: for charging devices, lighting, the water tap, and even the kettle. A bit chilly outside? The Columbus is well-insulated thanks to its wood finish, and an electric heater is included for use when you're on the road.
There are three seats with seat belts. There's no bike rack, but two bikes fit inside the bus – convenient and safe while driving. While traveling, you can listen to your own music via the Bluetooth radio with new speakers.
The camper comes standard with a table, two chairs, kitchen utensils, power cable and bed linen, so you can get started right away.
Columbus is available for charter from Utrecht. Upon departure, we'll be happy to provide a detailed briefing so you're well-prepared for your adventure.
