Liebertje – 5p Volkswagen campervan uit 2006

Meet… Liebertje 🚐

Our camper van was given this name by our children, derived from the German word for delivery van: Lieberwagen. By now, she has become a full-fledged member of the family, and it is a joy when we go on a trip with her!

Liebertje is a compact yet surprisingly complete campervan that you can drive straight to the mountains, the beach, the woods, or for a spontaneous weekend getaway. She is from 2006, was converted into a camper in 2012, and has already covered quite a few beautiful kilometers with our family of two adults and three children.

Because she is stationary more often than she is on the road, we love renting her out to other adventurers who get just as much joy from her as we do 😄. In the meantime, we can help cover the maintenance costs a little.
We are, however, looking for people who are a little sweet to her. After all, her name is Liebertje for a reason.

🚗 Travel

Liebertje has room for five people while driving:
3 seats in the front and 2 in the back.

In the back, there are Isofix connections for child seats, and a table can be installed. Ideal for drawing, games, snacks, or arguing over UNO cards on the go 😉.

During long drives, cruise control is very pleasant, and via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto you can easily use navigation, Spotify, or your favorite road trip playlist. Charging your phone while driving? No problem, multiple connections are available for that.

⛺ Camping

Upon arrival at your destination, extend the brand-new awning, put a rug underneath, unfold the chairs (5 available), pull up a small table… and the holiday feeling is on.

The awning can optionally be secured extra firmly with storm straps, handy if the Dutch summer decides to get creative with gusts of wind 🌬️.

😴 Sleeping

There are surprisingly many sleeping options for such a compact bus.
• You can easily create a double bed at the back by folding down the benches.
• The pop-up roof provides extra headroom and a spacious feel during the day.
• At night, you slide out above the slatted base for an extra sleeping spot. Especially suitable for children, although we adults have regularly slept there too.
• A custom-made cot can be placed on the front seats.

We travel with 2 adults and 3 children ourselves. That works just fine… if you get along really well 😄
Honest advice: the most comfortable option is the camper van for 2 adults with 1 or 2 children, possibly supplemented with an extra small tent if you are taking more children on your adventure.

🍳 Cooking

The camper has a built-in kitchenette with:
• 2 gas burners
• a sink with running water from a water tank
• and… perhaps the most important part of any holiday: an espresso machine ☕️

Because bad coffee on an adventure? We don't do that.

🎒 Bring your stuff

There is a surprising amount of storage space in the back. About 10 standard folding crates fit in, so there is plenty of room for clothes, toys, groceries, camping gear, or those “we’re taking this along just in case” items that never actually get used 😉.

In short: Liebertje is not a mega-luxury half-million-dollar camper, but it is a cozy, complete, and reliable travel companion that takes you straight into adventure 🚐
