Super fun, original VW T4 Westfalia factory camper with character.
Nice compact van that fits in any parking space. So also at shops to do your groceries and put them straight into the cupboards/fridge. Going out for the day? You have everything with you; your hiking boots, a different sweater, pants, or jacket. And of course your food! Super handy.
Furthermore, Fifty Shades is a nice van. Not fast, but that immediately helps you unwind, and you quickly get that holiday feeling from the very first kilometers. Cruising comfortably at 100 km/h on the highway. Or driving along country roads and/or through the hills with the powerful 5-cylinder engine.
The bus is equipped with all basic amenities for visits to campsites, such as:
- A parking heater for the chilly days
- An awning for the warm days
- A bike carrier for 2 bikes can be installed if you expect to cycle a lot; otherwise, I do not recommend it due to the very heavy tailgate when opening and closing.
- Cooking with gas
- Drinking water from the tap/fresh water tank (60L)
- Cutlery, dinnerware set and pans, hand towel/tea towel etc. are also available
- Chairs and a table are available to sit outside in the sun or in the shade under the retro canopy.
- 2 games; Rummikub and badminton
- Mattresses downstairs and upstairs fitted with a mattress protector.
So no pillows or duvet; please bring your own. Two good sleeping bags can be provided if needed.
Furthermore, the following is present:
- 220v cable + adapter
- 2 leveling blocks to level the bus
- 2 plates in case the bus gets stuck in the mud
I have already taken some fun trips with it, but the bus still needs some (cosmetic) attention after more than 30 years of hard work. That is why I am offering the bus here, so that I can use the proceeds to further refurbish it for many more years of enjoyment for myself and those who also want to experience how fun it is to be on the road for a day or several days in a VW camper van with character like this one. So please treat the old beast with care and respect ;).
Technically, the van is in perfect condition. I worked as a mechanic at VW myself, so there are no worries about that. The insurance is also well arranged in case anything unexpected should happen.
You will receive the manual in advance to go through, as well as an explanation of how everything works upon pickup. I am always available to answer any questions during the trip.
Pick-up and drop-off times by arrangement if you wish to depart/drop off on Wed/Fri/Sat due to work.
