Who wants to go out with our attractive and complete camper Caty? We would like to share the fun and freedom of camper life! Our Peugeot J5 is a real vintage example: good for looks and great for the atmosphere, less suitable for long distances and mountains. With this camper you travel with a classic; Passers-by will look at you with satisfaction. Everything you need is in there! Moreover, its headroom and plenty of seating space make it very suitable for rainy days, as an office spot and for winter. Although it feels light and spacious due to the many windows, it is no longer than 6 meters including the bicycle carrier.
Traveling with this camper feels like being on the road in your own cozy house. We fell for this Peugeot because of its sturdy look, the U-seat with large windows and the beautiful wooden cabinets. The camper is an old one and always has some minor defects (think of outdated rubbers, minor moisture problems, loose or broken valves, etc.). We try to care for her as best as possible and put a lot of time into this. By letting her drive she stays in good condition, and with the rental we provide some extra budget for renovations!
What Caty has to offer you:
- All-season tires and a well-running engine on LPG and petrol. From the driver's seat you have a good view through the rear window and extra mirrors have been attached for difficult corners next to the camper. The car has a manual transmission and please note: it does not have power steering.
- Alcove with optional 80x200 cm bed and plenty of storage space. While driving we place the blankets, pillows, outdoor chairs and tables here, you can also store clothing bags or an extra tent there.
- Bathroom with mirror, toilet with 18 liter tank and sink.
- Kitchen with three gas burners, sink, kitchen inventory and refrigerator (on external power).
- 100 liter water tank and 75 liter dirty water tank.
- Spacious seating area with windows all around, storage space, games and a diesel heater. The sofa can be turned into a nice 160x200 bed.
- Solar panel with battery, sufficient for lighting throughout the camper and charging telephones.
- Bicycle carrier for 2 bicycles.
- Awning and 2 outdoor chairs and a large and small table.
- Optional: outdoor shower and gas barbecue (please consult in advance if you want to use this).
What Caty needs from you:
- Enthusiasm for its vintage beauty with a little patience with the interior. Due to her age (Caty is from 1989), some parts are vulnerable. In our experience, the camper is therefore less suitable for going on holiday with young children or pets. We always try to resolve any damage within reason: if a defect has clearly arisen due to age, we will not withhold any deposit from you. In the event of carelessness, forcing or unforeseen other accidents, we unfortunately have to do this to keep the camper neat and intact.
- Experience with old vehicles, or a little time to discuss this together in advance. Some things work slightly differently in the Peugeot than in a modern car. We have noticed that this comes more naturally to people who have experience with vintage vehicles than to people who do not. Don't worry: we can explain everything to you and you will get used to it quickly. It would be nice if we set aside some time for this together.
- Passion for road tripping! Caty will take you everywhere, but under the guise 'hurry is rarely good'. Headwind and hills can easily save you 10 to 20 kilometers per hour, and without those factors the maximum speed is no higher than 100 kilometers per hour.
All in all: a perfect camper to enjoy an off-the-grid camping adventure, a tour through the Netherlands or a nice camping holiday with comfort and atmosphere. For the low season we have a minimum booking period of 3 nights. Minimum 7 nights during high season. Times for pick-up and return are negotiable. Do you want to go out with Caty? Nice!
