(PLEASE NOTE: the camper is only rented to adults over 30 years of age, and if children are traveling along, they must be over 8 years old).
We would like to introduce our Volkswagen Karmann camper named Remco to you. We deliberately chose this camper because it represents proven quality and simple technology. At its core, it is a Mercedes Sprinter with a very reliable VW engine. As a car enthusiast, I didn't want to withhold this information from you.
We want to rent out our camper for the first time this summer, as we won't be using it ourselves during the high season anyway. We always travel as a couple and thoroughly enjoy our trips with this camper. The camper is therefore perfectly equipped for 2 adults and, in terms of space, primarily suitable for 2 people, but in principle, you can also travel in it with more people. There are 6 seats (registered on the vehicle) with seatbelts.
(NB we only rent the camper to adults over 30 years of age, and if children are traveling along, they must be over 8 years old).
The camper is designed with 4 sleeping berths. There is a double bed in the alcove (130 cm x 200 cm, height is limited) and a dinette (the seating area can be adjusted to create a sleeping space (100 cm x 175 cm, extendable widthwise to 120 x 175 cm)). Bed linen is not included.
The camper has a seating area where 4 people can sit.
There is a space at the back of the camper with a chemical toilet and a small sink.
The kitchen contains a gas stove (3 burners), sink, fridge with freezer compartment, and complete kitchen inventory (ideally for 2, but max. 4 people).
Towels/tea towels etc. and a small coffee maker are not available!
There is more than enough storage space, and at the back of the camper is a 'garage' where outdoor gear, among other things, is stored. Once you have found a nice camping spot, you can sit comfortably under the brand-new (Feb 2025) awning at a table with two comfortable chairs; there are also a couple of small stools under the table. Two standard bicycles can be carried on the bike rack.
Furthermore, the camper has air conditioning while driving but also when stationary (provided you are connected to shore power).
Everything runs on gas (fridge/freezer, cooking, heating); a gas bottle is connected and one full 20-liter bottle is always available. A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are present. A shore power cable is also available. The fridge/freezer can run on 12V while driving, 230V shore power, or gas.
Some experience and insight into driving a (tall, 3-meter) bus or camper is helpful. The camper can easily reach 120 km/h, but a cruising speed of 90-95 km/h is more comfortable and saves on fuel costs. (NB: the camper has a diesel engine; take your destination and the environmental regulations applicable there into account.)
We take out a Goboony daily insurance policy, which means that roadside assistance, replacement transport, accommodation, and repatriation are covered (with an excess of 1,250 in the event of damage).
All in all, a complete and cozy camper that you can take on a wonderful trip!
Greeting,
Jaap & Janneke
