We're pleased to introduce our Volkswagen Karmann campervan, named Remco. We deliberately chose this campervan because of its proven quality and simple technology. It's essentially a Mercedes Sprinter with a very reliable VW engine. As a car enthusiast, I want to share this information with you.
We're planning to rent out our campervan for the first time this summer, as we won't be using it ourselves during peak season. We always travel as a couple and thoroughly enjoy our trips with this campervan. It's perfectly equipped for two adults and, in terms of space, is especially suitable for two people, but it's also ideal for traveling with more people. There are six seats (registered) with seatbelts.
(PLEASE NOTE: We only rent the camper to adults over 25 years old and if children travel along, they must be over 8 years old).
The campervan is designed with four sleeping places. There's a double bed in the alcove (130 cm x 200 cm, limited height) and a dinette (the seating area can be adjusted to create a sleeping area (100 cm x 175 cm, extendable to 120 x 175 cm). Bedding is not included.
The camper has a seating area where you can sit with 4 people.
There is a space at the back of the camper with a chemical toilet and a sink.
The kitchen contains a gas stove (3 burners), sink, refrigerator with freezer compartment, and complete kitchen inventory (ideally for 2, but max 4 persons).
Towels/tea towels etc. and a coffee maker are not provided!
There's plenty of storage space, and in the back of the campervan is a "garage" where you can store your outdoor gear, among other things. Once you've found a nice camping spot, you can relax under the brand-new (February 2025) awning at a table with two comfortable chairs, and a few small stools underneath. The bike rack can carry two standard bicycles.
Furthermore, the camper has air conditioning while driving but also when you are stationary (provided you are connected to shore power).
Everything runs on gas (refrigerator/freezer, cooking, heating). A gas bottle is connected, and a full 20-liter bottle is always available. A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are provided. A shore power cable is also included. The refrigerator/freezer can be powered by 12V while driving, 230V shore power, or gas.
Some experience and understanding of driving a (tall, 3-meter) van or campervan is helpful. The campervan can easily reach 120 km/h, but a cruising speed of 90-95 km/h is more comfortable and saves fuel. (Note: the campervan has a diesel engine; consider your destination and the applicable environmental regulations.)
We take out Goboony day insurance, which means that any breakdown assistance, replacement transportation, accommodation, and repatriation are covered (with a deductible of €1,250 in case of damage).
All in all, a complete and cozy camper with which you can make a nice trip!
Greeting,
Jaap & Janneke
