"The Gecko" VW Campervan was fully converted in late 2022 by Out And About Campers, West Sussex. The interior is smart and comfortable, with fold away table and front swivel seats. It has an easy to use pop top (fully enclosed with mesh window and reading light!) plus a comfy "rock and roll" bed that is basically the rear seats folded down. Please return with full tank of fuel or £15 surcharge plus the difference will be required.
Important: Turn off gas canister in locker box using valve, before moving the vehicle.
We will endeavour to always ensure the gas bottle will last a trip, but if it does run out and you have to refill, then we will refund you the charge rounded up to the nearest £5.
Return with clean and tidy.
No Smoking in the vehicle.
No standing on the seats wearing shoes.
Ensure you watch the pop top open/close video.
Ensure a window/door is open when closing the pop top.
Please turn off the fridge when not in use.
Do not empty waste water straight into the outside road or field. It must be collected using basin provided and tipped into a waste water outlet.
If using the Portaloo, ensure waste is emptied into appropriate foul waste stream before returning the vehicle. £100 fee if not done.
Ensure drawers/cupboards are always shut properly using the push in locks.
Do not overload top cupboards, the risk is they may fall out and damage the glass hob top.
Please notify us if any warning lights illuminate, or if you have any concerns.
Only use the bike racks for bicycles.
Do not allow bags/crockery to roll around the vehicle or cupboards.
Please remove all of your own rubbish.
Please report any breakages, scratches etc.
Well behaved dogs may be allowed, but only with advance approval and an extra rental charge of £20.

Sara and Gregor were brilliant to hire from and always responsive to messages. My daughter and I had a lovely few days in the Gecko. As it was an October hire they went the extra mile providing us a hookup cable so I could run a mini heater to take the edge off the chilly mornings. Excellent attention to detail with all the nicknacks and essentials you could need without over-filling the van, so we could still pack our bits in too. Would highly recommend saying yes to the mattress topper for extra comfort! We would absolutely hire from these guys again 👍

We loved renting this cosy motorhome from Sara and had a great weekend away with the kids. It was very well stocked and Sara provided loads of nice little touches like a mini bottle of wine, shower gel and hand sanitiser, etc as well as all the kitchen utensils we needed. Sara was also excellent art communicating with us and was also flexible with our requests. We may well hire the Gecko from you again, Sara, thank you!

We had a wonderful weekend away in Sara's campervan with family of 4+dog. No problems. Very comfortable and easy to drive. Sara was very responsive and super helpful. Some lovely little touches that show she goes the extra mile. Highly recommend!

Very much enjoyed our trip away in The Gecko last week. Everything is well designed and clean. Sara and Gregor are really friendly and accommodating and have thought of everything you could possibly need. The beds were easy to make and very comfortable, and the van is easy to drive. We'll be back!
