Wij hebben bij Jacques van Engelshoven tot volle tevredenheid een Mercedes EQV - Tonke camper gehuurd. Prima en heldere instructie vooraf en een luisterend oor bij terugkomst. De elektrische camper rijdt formidabel en ook in gebruik is de compacte camper ons zeer goed bevallen. Zeker voor een herhaling vatbaar. Met dank voor de excellente service. May 2023

Going out for the first time via Goboony. It seemed like a nice concept to me: well-oiled organization relieves the owner and facilitates the tenant. But an electric camper, because we also drive on electricity throughout the year. This year we had Germany in mind. That was a good thing: to southern countries it would be much more problematic, even now. Charging facilities at the eastern neighbors are generally sufficient along the highways. However, the suggestion of the photo 'a child can do the laundry' is not entirely correct. Something went wrong at 4 out of 10 charging stations. But at the end of the ride we had become a piece of loading guide. The personal contact with the renting owner was pleasant. However, there were a few learning moments: - don't take too much. It only just fits. With our dog and luggage it was quite a high occupancy per square meter. - bring a side tent for your luggage that gets in the way if you want the camper ready for the night. - something like an awning increases the cozy feeling, especially on bare campsites. - check the inventory list, so you don't miss out or have duplicate items. We really enjoyed our holiday in the Tonke EQV. It was our first experience with electric driving, but we thought it was a good introduction! The landlord Jaques is very enthusiastic and the contact is very relaxed! If there is anything you can always send a message and you will receive a quick response. Jaques always tries to help you and on departure there are tasty drinks in the fridge. Very thoughtful! We finally drove all the way to northern Spain in 2 days (1200 km). With good weather (+20 degrees), the range of the camper is at least 330 km, and you can charge it at the fast charger in France within 20 minutes (just enough time for a croissant and a coffee). The fast charger is a bit more expensive, but it saves a lot of time. There are charging stations along the highway everywhere in France, which are easy to consult with the Chargemap app. The Tesla app is also recommended, they have good, fast and reliable chargers. In Spain, the charging points are somewhat scarcer, but here we only drove short distances (maximum one-three hours) and always charged at the campsite. You can also charge at the supermarket in Bilbao. You can also charge the camper well at the campsite, but don't expect the battery to be completely full again within 1 night. However, you will have enough battery again within 2-3 days. We were able to charge everything with chargemap pass, Tesla app and Shell pass. The extendable kitchen at the rear makes cooking pleasant, you have a lot of work space and you don't have to bend over. The two pans are enough to prepare a normal camping meal (a paella or risotto might get tricky). During rain or bright sun we have hung a tarp for some shade or to be dry. The bed downstairs is spacious and sleeps very comfortably. We were also able to sleep very well at the top of the pop-up roof. It might be a bit of scrambling. Sufficient fresh air enters through the windows in the pop-up roof. Driving is very relaxed with the camper. Accelerating is fast, you have no sound from the humming engine, the bus has many handy tricks that help you while driving. You have a good music system in the bus (it will turn on automatically when the camper is started, so disconnect the Bluetooth in between if you do not want to wake up your camping neighbors with your music). All in all a very good experience, especially if you drive between the smog and exhaust fumes in Paris and realize that traveling in 2022 has to be different and can certainly be done in a good way!! You certainly don't have to compromise on the distance or holiday destination, if you are willing to pay for the fast charger along the highway and to stop more often. September 2022

The owner Jacques is a nice and helpful landlord. The Tonke EQV Mercedesbus had not yet been tested by himself due to a delay in delivery. As a result, Jacques did not know all the ins and outs for the non-electric driving tenant like us on a daily basis. The EQV drives great. Especially in the Eco mode (you have to always turn it on, because the control automatically jumps to Comfort after switching off). In Eco mode you can drive about 300 km. The extendable kitchen at the rear is very practical and provides a wide sleeping area downstairs. However, the kitchen is only suitable in dry weather, because if it rains, you will also get wet under the tailgate. Charging at a campsite is possible with the slow-charger converter (which can be rented). Note: set the converter properly to the max. current per connection (often 6 or 10 amps, at luxury places you usually pay the kWh price). The space inside the bus for two people was ultimately very good. We had some reservations about that beforehand. The bags in the rear windows offer space for light items and clothes; ideal. Those bags do take away some visibility when reversing. If you go camping with the four of you and also sleep at the top on the (fine) lifting roof mattress, you have to take into account a fairly high step. Not handy if you have to go to the toilet at night. But hey, when you're young you just do that. The less flexible tenant will wake up more rested on the sofa and mattress downstairs. That is the same with every bus camper. The blinding sheets (with suction cups on the windows) are great: it gets really nice and dark in the bus. Gas stove (2 burners in the back) works well, standard fridge (not that big) was already filled by Jacques with some welcome drinks. (Don't know if that is always the case, but it is cozy and welcoming.) There is one downside anyway and that concerns the bicycle carrier: it is very high, making it difficult to put the bicycles on it and you have to take into account low underpasses. Overall (with two previous trips with a VW and Mercedes bus as an experience) this was the most relaxed yet. No load stress, at least not in NL. Abroad (but also in the Netherlands) it is useful to request at least 2 free charge cards from different energy providers (Greenchoice worked everywhere). July 2022
