If you want to go to Norway, this is your ideal camper. If you read the whole story you will know why.
If you want to rent the camper in June, make a request, but we may have to discuss this. We are going to Oerol without a camper and can therefore only deliver until Thursday June 8 and take it back after Monday June 17.
Our well-maintained Pössl Roadcamp is a wonderfully compact camper and only 5.40 m long (excl. folding bicycle carrier), so you can easily go anywhere. In small nice villages with narrow streets and in parking lots for normal cars. Only parking garages are not possible due to the height. You drive it like a large passenger car, even uphill. We deliberately chose this small camper. It does have the disadvantage that if you are of very large build, the camper is not suitable for you.
At home we have a bed that is 1.80 wide, so we were very curious about how the relatively narrow bed would suit the over-65s. Great, a fixed bed with a good mattress. If you are taller than 1.85, this camper is less suitable for you because the bed is 1.95 long.
In the summer of 2022 we made a beautiful 6-week trip through Norway. We only looked for a campsite with a washing machine if we wanted to do the laundry. The remaining nights were spent at the most beautiful camper sites without facilities or somewhere free in nature (see the photos). Because we have a solar panel and drove almost every day, this was not a problem. We did not need the electricity, toilet and shower of a campsite, which are very expensive in Norway. This saved us about 1000 euros in camping costs. In Norway there are more than enough facilities to empty the toilet and gray water container and to refill water. And thanks to the outside tap we could shower almost every day without needing a shower tent (see photos). Norway is an expensive country so the boxes under the bed contained a large amount of food so we only had to go to the supermarket for WiFi, bread, meat, fresh vegetables and fruit. The many ferries in and to Norway have a price standard of below and above 6 meters. So with a length of 6 meters (including bicycle rack), this relatively short camper is also financially attractive.
Because we found the standard shower in the toilet very cramped, we installed an outside tap. This allows you to take a lovely shower outside, with or without a shower tent, with warm water! Or if it is very hot, rinse with cold water.
We regularly received requests from couples with a (young) child. This camper is definitely not suitable for that.
There is plenty of closet space. There is plenty of luggage space under the bed. It contains 2 chairs, a table and five practical boxes including an electric heater (there is also standard gas heating).
Both front seats are rotatable and very comfortable. This is nice for on the road and when you have to sit cozy in the camper because it is still too cold outside. The table sits in a chute and can be placed in various positions, which is nice because it creates space. There is possibly room for a third and fourth person on a bench (with belts), but that is a bit tight and because we rarely used it ourselves, we made a cupboard there. This eliminates the need for a bench, but you do have extra cupboard space. If you prefer a bench, no problem, that is possible. The cupboard is easy to remove and then we put the bench cushions back. You can see both options in the photos.
You can enjoy your coffee with the sliding door open if sitting outside is too chilly. Prepare or even cook your lunch on the go.
When the bicycles are on the rack, the rear luggage compartment is still accessible because the Busbiker (= bicycle carrier) can swing away. It can carry three bicycles with a total weight of 80 kg. So the (electric) bicycles can come along! This is also very practical if you want to visit larger cities. Just outside the city you park the camper and cycle to Groningen, Leeuwarden, Maastricht, Bruges, Cologne, Rome, Vienna, Bergen or wherever you are. Be sure to wear a bicycle helmet!
We rent the camper complete with inventory such as kitchen equipment, chairs, table, games, shower tent and other practical items. There is a gas connection on the outside to which you can quickly and easily connect the gas barbecue (Cadac, Safari chef 2). Also electricity to charge the bicycles.
There is a mattress protector, molton and bottom sheet on the mattress. You must provide your own pillows, duvet and towels. We will email you a complete inventory list as soon as the booking is final. We have also made a folder with photos and self-made instructions for everything that is in the camper, so you can never go wrong. We regularly clean the camper with the steam cleaner.
We recently installed a screen door and mosquito net at the rear.
The pick-up time stated in the advertisement is flexible. We do this in consultation, but it often happens that you can pick up the camper in the morning and only have to return it in the afternoon. But we cannot guarantee this.
