Located in the Marais Poitevin Interregional Park, in the heart of the dried marsh canals, the Ile Cariot campsite offers 50 spacious pitches for tents, caravans or motorhomes, wood clad mobile homes, canvas bungalows and chalets on 2 hectares. From the campsite you can enjoy nice walks, bike rides and canoeing (free activity) Calm and relaxation guaranteed, but also discovery and fun thanks to the various activities offered during the summer holidays (meals, fishing, creative workshops, games...)

Located in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, between La Rochelle with its aquarium and the Venise Verte. Close to the fine sandy beaches of La Tranche Sur Mer and the Bay of Aiguillon.

Campsite location
The ***L’Île Cariot campsite holds approval No. C85-016670-001 dated July 13, 2012 for 50 tourism pitches.
It is located Rue du 8 Mai, 85450 Chaillé-les-Marais in the Marais Poitevin, 30 km from La Rochelle, from the beaches of South Vendée such as La Tranche‑sur‑Mer, and the Baie de l’Aiguillon.

Fishing enthusiasts can fish in the Sèvre Niortaise a few kilometres away or at Étang du Sableau, located 4 km from the campsite.

 
Opening dates
The campsite welcomes guests from April 1st to September 30th, 2026.

 
Article 1 – Scope of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale

These general terms and conditions automatically govern all sales of stays made on the website
www.camping-chaille-les-marais.com or by telephone at +33 2 51 56 75 27.

They form an integral part of any contract concluded between the campsite and its customers. Each customer acknowledges having read the general terms and conditions and the campsite rules.

In accordance with applicable law, these general terms and conditions are made available to every customer for information prior to the conclusion of the stay contract. The choice and purchase of a service remain the sole responsibility of the Customer.

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are accessible at any time on the website and can also be obtained upon written request from the establishment.

These conditions apply to the exclusion of all other conditions, in particular those applicable through other sales channels.

As these terms may be modified at a later date, the version applicable to the Customer’s purchase is the one in force on the website at the time the order is placed.

 
Article 2 – Booking conditions

2.1 Prices and payment

Any person entering into a contract must be at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering into a contract, and must not be under guardianship.

Reservations for a pitch or accommodation are strictly personal. You may not sublet or transfer your reservation without prior consent from the campsite.

It is the customer’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of the order and immediately report any errors. The order will only be considered final after confirmation of acceptance has been sent by the campsite via email.

Minors must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians or must have written parental authorization.

The reservation becomes firm and final only after approval by the campsite and upon receipt of the deposit and the reservation contract duly completed and signed for telephone bookings.

Stay prices are indicated in euros including VAT.

A tourist tax must be paid for each adult at the applicable rate
(2026 rate: €0.25 per night per person over 18) and is payable upon arrival.

An eco-contribution is also charged per night for each adult. The campsite is subject to environmental taxes related to natural resource extraction (clean water) and waste treatment (wastewater and household waste). This contribution therefore represents compensation and environmental awareness (€0.30 per adult per night).

All booking requests must be accompanied by a deposit of 25% of the total stay price.

Upon receipt, a confirmation email will be sent indicating any additional deposit required and the balance of the stay to be paid:

upon arrival for pitches
at least 30 days before arrival for rental accommodations
Otherwise, the stay will be cancelled.

For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking for rental accommodation, or 25% deposit for pitches.

The reservation becomes effective only after receipt of the deposit and after receipt of:

the reservation contract duly completed and signed, or
acceptance of the general terms and conditions during online booking.
Our prices include access to sanitary facilities, reception infrastructures, free activities, the swimming pool, and communal areas.

 
Pitch reservations
The basic package includes:

the pitch for a tent, caravan, or motorhome
for 2 persons
electricity and water
Maximum 1 to 6 persons per pitch.

 
Accommodation reservations
Rental accommodations include:

television
crockery
duvets and pillows
Not included:

bed sheets (optional)
table linen
bath towels
The basic package allows 1 to 6 persons depending on the accommodation type.

The campsite reserves the right to refuse access to groups or families arriving with a number of participants exceeding the capacity of the rented accommodation.

For any unreported late arrival, the pitch or accommodation becomes available 24 hours after the arrival date stated in the reservation contract. After this period, and in the absence of written notice, the reservation will be cancelled and the payment retained by the campsite management.

All rentals are personal and non-transferable.

 
Group bookings
For bookings exceeding 4 motorhomes or 12 participants, online booking is not permitted.

Acceptance depends on the campsite’s ability to guarantee a friendly and family atmosphere suitable for rest and relaxation for all guests.

The campsite reserves the right to refuse group bookings.

Group booking conditions are specific and different from those for individual customers and are available upon request.

 
Payment methods
Payment can be made by:

credit card
holiday vouchers (Chèque-Vacances, including Connect)
bank cheque payable to the establishment (not accepted less than 30 days before arrival)
bank transfer (bank details available on request)
 
Security deposit
For rental accommodations, a security deposit of €290 is required (by cheque or credit card):

€200 for accommodation
€90 cleaning fee
It is required on the day the keys are handed over and returned within 8 days after the end of the stay, after deduction of any repair costs if necessary.

An additional deposit may be required when renting equipment (refrigerator, bicycles, etc.).

An inventory checklist will be provided upon arrival and must be returned to reception within 24 hours.

The campsite staff checks each accommodation at departure.

This deposit does not limit liability.

 
2.2 Modification of reservation

No reduction will be granted in case of:

late arrival
early departure
change in the number of persons
In case of modification of dates or accommodation type, the provider will try to accept one modification per stay per season, subject to availability.

No modification will be accepted within 30 days before arrival.

No refund will be granted for any modification request.

Any change in the number of persons must be declared upon arrival (tourist tax adjustment).

In the case of incorrect declaration, the contract will be automatically terminated and payments retained.

Any reduction in the length of stay will be considered a partial cancellation.

 
2.3 Cancellation

No cancellation will be accepted after final confirmation of the reservation. All amounts paid will be retained.

Guests are strongly advised to take out cancellation insurance (4% of the stay cost).

In case of cancellation or interruption of the stay, the campsite cannot be held responsible and no refund will be issued.

The insurance premium is payable at the time of booking and is non-refundable.

Cancellation insurance reimburses:

the amounts paid before arrival
the unused portion of the stay in case of early return (prorata temporis)
If cancellation insurance is subscribed, the balance of the stay must be paid 30 days before arrival.

Cancellation fees:

More than 30 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee (deposit retained)
Less than 30 days before arrival: 100% cancellation fee
Administrative fees and insurance costs remain payable in all cases.

Claims must be reported to the insurer within 10 days.

Article 3 – Stay conditions

3.1 Arrivals and departures

For pitches: arrivals are from 12:00 PM and departures must be before 12:00 PM.

For rental accommodations: arrivals are from 4:00 PM and departures must be before 10:00 AM, regardless of the day of the week. If you notice any issues with the condition of your rental upon arrival (cleaning, etc.), please notify reception within 24 hours so that the situation can be corrected as quickly as possible. After this period, no claims will be accepted.

Returning the rental keys after 10:00 AM or vacating the pitch after 12:00 PM will result in an additional night being charged. Any extension of stay must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure date.

Accommodations and pitches must be returned in the same state of cleanliness as at arrival.

If not, the tenant must pay a flat fee of €90 for cleaning. Any damage to the accommodation or its accessories will require immediate restoration at the tenant’s expense. The final inventory state must exactly match the condition at the beginning of the rental.

3.2 Pets

Pets are allowed in mobile homes provided they are vaccinated and kept on a leash.

Maximum 1 pet per mobile home
€4 per night or €25 per week
Category 1 and 2 dogs are prohibited.

Pets must never be left alone on the campsite.

 
3.3 Internal regulations

Guests must comply with the campsite rules displayed at reception.

Any behaviour that disturbs other guests or threatens staff or property may result in immediate expulsion.

 
3.4 Electric vehicles

For safety reasons, charging electric or hybrid vehicles is prohibited on the campsite.

A charging station is available 300 m from the campsite.

 
3.5 Campsite facilities

The campsite offers:

Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at the pool.

 
3.6 Image rights

The campsite may take photographs or videos and publish them on its communication media.

Acceptance of these general terms implies authorization for image use.

 
Article 4 – Liability

The campsite declines all responsibility for any damage to the camper’s or caravaner’s equipment caused by their own actions.

The Provider guarantees the Client, in accordance with legal provisions and without additional payment, against any non-conformity or hidden defect resulting from a design or execution flaw in the services ordered.

The Provider will refund, rectify, or have rectified (as far as possible) any services deemed defective as quickly as possible and no later than 7 days after the Provider identifies the defect or hidden fault. The refund will be made by credit to the Client’s bank account or by bank check sent to the Client.

The Provider’s guarantee is limited to the reimbursement of the Services actually paid for by the Client, and the Provider cannot be held responsible or liable for any delay or non-performance resulting from a case of force majeure as commonly recognized by French case law.

The services provided via the website www.camping-chaille-les-marais.com by the Provider comply with current regulations in France.

Right of Withdrawal:
Activities related to the organization and sale of stays or excursions on a specific date or period are not subject to the withdrawal period applicable to distance sales.

Protection of Personal Data:
The Provider, author of these terms, processes personal data on the following legal bases:

Either the legitimate interest pursued by the Provider for the following purposes:

prospecting,
managing relationships with Clients and prospects,
organizing, registering, and inviting to the Provider’s events,
processing, executing, prospecting, producing, managing, and monitoring Client requests and files,
drafting documents on behalf of Clients.
Or compliance with legal and regulatory obligations when processing is for the following purposes:

prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing and anti-corruption measures,
invoicing,
accounting.
The Provider retains data only for the duration necessary for the operations for which it was collected and in compliance with applicable regulations.

In this regard, Client data is retained for the duration of the contractual relationship plus 3 years for promotional and prospecting purposes, without prejudice to mandatory retention periods or statutes of limitation.

For money laundering and terrorism financing prevention, data is retained for 5 years after the end of the relationship with the Provider. For accounting purposes, data is retained for 10 years from the end of the fiscal year.

Prospect data is retained for 3 years if no participation or registration for the Provider’s events occurs. The processed data is intended for authorized personnel of the Provider.

Under the conditions defined by the French Data Protection Act and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individuals have the right to access, rectify, query, limit, transfer, and erase their personal data.

Individuals also have the right to object at any time, for reasons specific to their situation, to the processing of personal data based on the legitimate interest of the Provider, as well as the right to object to commercial prospecting.

They also have the right to define general and specific directives regarding how these rights should be exercised after their death:

Intellectual Property:
The content of the website www.camping-chaille-les-marais.com is the property of the Provider and its partners and is protected by French and international intellectual property laws.

Any full or partial reproduction of this content is strictly prohibited and may constitute an infringement offense.

Furthermore, the Provider retains all intellectual property rights over photographs, presentations, studies, drawings, models, prototypes, etc., created (even at the Client’s request) for the provision of Services to the Client. The Client is therefore prohibited from reproducing or using these studies, drawings, models, prototypes, etc., without the express, written, and prior authorization of the Provider, which may be subject to financial compensation.

 
Article 5 – Disputes

The campsite cannot be held responsible for:

force majeure
weather events
legal or administrative decisions affecting the stay
Any complaint must be reported to reception within 24 hours during the stay.

Written complaints must be sent within 15 days after the end of the stay.

The provider will respond within one month.

Article 6 – Applicable law

These general terms are governed by French law.

Any dispute relating to their application falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Niort.
