Hi, I’m Max! My journey with Land Rovers started on the coast, where I spent years working as a surf instructor. Living out of my own Defender during those years taught me everything about the "flow" of life on the road - the freedom to find a remote spot, the joy of a slow-cooked meal at sunset, and the importance of having gear you can actually rely on.

That lived experience is what led me and Bela to start LandyCampers. I’m an engineer at heart, so I’ve spent the last several years obsessively upgrading Waffle and Fern to ensure they aren't just vehicles, but "roaming cabins" that offer a truly all-inclusive experience.

For me, travel is about "Guided Freedom." I want to take away all the logistical stress - the "hidden" costs of bedding or gas, the worry about power, or the complexity of a roof tent—so you can focus entirely on the adventure. Whether you are arriving by train at Audley End or flying into Stansted, my goal is to have you behind the wheel and heading toward the wild with confidence.

I’m a huge advocate for "Slow Travel" and sustainability. We operate as a carbon-negative business, planting 20 trees for every booking, because I believe we should leave the landscapes we explore better than we found them.
