The Van – 2 berth Volkswagen T5.1 campervan near Fort William

Our family campervan is a professional conversion by SMC campers and is the explorer version with double leisure battery, meaning that we have rarely needed a mains hookup. It is currently rigged for two berth use. It has the usual cold water sink and double gas burner, fridge, diesel heater and a Reimo elevating roof. The double passenger seat swivels so that four people can comfortably sit, eat and socialise in the van. Two outside camping chairs are available.

There are pots, pans and cutlery sufficient for cooking, eating and drinking, including stainless steel cafetiere. We provide some basics such as salt, pepper, olive oil, tea bags etc. together with detergent, dish cloth and tea towels.

A bed cover and four pillows, together with a light quilt are provided, though you may wish to bring your own sleeping bags.

The front windows are fitted with wind deflectors which greatly aid ventilation particularly overnight. We have a system for applying midge netting to the front windows and provide a pair of midge nets in case you are unfortunate enough to have a midgey experience.

The van can carry two sea kayaks (50kg max.) if the Karritech system is fitted. This will usually not be in place but can be fitted for your trip at an additional cost if you wish.

The van is based in Roy Bridge, near Fort William in the Highlands, which has a train station and pick up from there can be arranged. Alternatively you can park your vehicle here.
