Zola is a LWB Mercedes Sprinter, fully off grid with 2 leisure batteries, inverter and 3 way charging; solar panels, battery to battery charger (so the electric charges whilst driving) and mains hook up.
Fully winter ready Zola has been carefully insulated for the Scottish winters. The heating and hot water run off gas. There is a thermostat for the hot blown air heating and hot water to the shower and sink - all operated from the truma iNet panel. The MaxAir fan in the ceiling is operated by remote control with inbuilt thermostat.
There are 2 belted seats in the cab and the rear double bed can be pulled out to a full Kingsize bed. (Linens can be provided on request.) The bench seating pulls out for further sleeping accommodation but it is short so more suitable for a child.
The shower cubicle has a hot water shower and the porta potti can be removed when showering. The ceiling vent in the shower can be opened to provide fresh air and is great for drying wet towels and clothes.
The 70 litre water tank is located in the rear garage, under the bed, and provides water to the sink and shower by means of water pump. There is a 30 litre waste tank under the sink and a 50 litre water hog that can be placed under the van to collect the shower waste. Both the potable water and waste tank have water level indicators.
The Kitchen has 2 gas hobs, fridge with freezer compartment and sink with hot and cold water. The kitchen tap pulls out and can be placed out the window for an outdoor shower. Omni oven provided for the gas hob. Three drawers hold all the pots, pans, cutlery and crockery you need; 4 melamine plates, 4 melamine side plates, 4 melamine bowls, large salad bowl, sharp knives, can opener, peeler, grater, 16 piece cutlery set and more! And plenty of overhead storage for foodstuff.
There is a plug socket and 3 USB sockets on the main control panel, the bedside light also has a USB charging point. LED lights located in the van; ceiling and overhead storage as well as under counter lights over the kitchen.
Overhead and under bench storage for clothing, coat rack and boot tray.
The bench seating can accommodate 3 comfortably and the table is removable.
I've long wanted to covert my own campervan and losing my job due to covid was the push I needed. I bought an old DPD delivery van and spent many more hours than I'd anticipated in converting her myself. From cutting out all the holes and installing windows, running meters and meters of cabling, to sewing cushion seating covers, Zola was a labour a love that should be enjoyed by more. Now that I'm working full time I don't have the time to adventure as much as I did and want others to share in the adventures she's given me.
