Description

This gorgeous and utterly unique vintage 1973 volkswagen camper is ready to take you on your holiday!
Walking around this 4 berth camper she looks simply sensational. The Devon 'Pop Top' works exactly as it should and with the roof elevated it is just fabulous to have the extra light coming in. The small additional skylight allows cool air to come in when the windows and doors are closed.
Inside the van there is the fabulous Rock n Roll bed,...

My girlfriend and I rented this campervan for 7 nights in June 2021 and drove the NC500 and to Skye (about 1000 miles) and it really lived up to our expectations. We averaged about 30mpg over the whole trip which was really impressive considering we spent almost no time on motorways and the constant stop/start of the single lane tracks. We were met by Pino on the first day and he was very welcoming and helpful, showing us where everything was and what to expect from driving it. He took me on a quick test drive before we set off to show me how it was different to a normal car. It took a little getting used to but after the first day it was all smooth sailing. The camper has been recently refurbished and it's clear to see as it drives like a dream and it looks great inside and out. Included was everything one would need for a camping holiday such as bedding, a stove with fuel, kitchen equipment, tables & chairs, and an awning. The wood burning stove included was very impressive and made barbecuing quick and easy. The bed was very comfortable and there are little clip-on curtains that block off all the windows so you can sleep with complete privacy. After parking up we would also put the top up and move some of our things in there to make more room. The added benefit of a campervan like this in comparison to one with more facilities is that you an park it in at a normal car parking spot with ease which makes finding sleeping locations much easier, we only ended up paying for 1 campsite over the whole week. Overall we had an amazing week and would highly recommend this campervan to anyone considering a Scotland road trip! July 2021
We (a couple) rented this 1973 iconic camper van for 4 days end of June 21 to go around Scottish coast and Skye (worked out to be about 1,100 miles in total). It had been our ambition to do this in a VW camper van but buying one was too expensive so renting seemed a perfect solution. We fly up to Glasgow and then got public transport to where the van was. I was a little apprehensive initially because hadn't rented off goboony before. We needn't have worried - everything was great! We met Pino who was really friendly and explained everything to us. The VW van takes a little getting used to (for those of us used to power steering and automatic gearboxes!) but after 30mins or so everything seemed like second nature. Pino had packed some provisions for us which was really appreciated and camping in the van was really cosy and warm. Ideal for a couple but I suspect would be ok if you had a couple of kids too. All in all, a great trip - it's a 50 year old van but has been looked after/refurbed and remains an iconic choice to do NC500. We would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience Scotland either as a wild camper (we we did) or indeed if you wanted to book into campsites on the way around. Pino (and Courtney were a pleasure to rent from and we would certainly consider doing this again). Thank you both! July 2021
