Hi, thanks for taking the time to read this fairly lengthy introduction to our Motorhome, (we still haven't named it yet)
Welcome to our Motorhome, our Pride and Joy, Our opportunity to be ESCAPED from the daily grind and we want to be able to share this opportunity with you.
We're based in Cheshire, 30 minutes from Manchester Airport, 20 minutes from Crewe Train Station.
From here you can be in the Lake District in 2 hours, the Moors in 1hr 45mins, North Wales in an hour (Anglesey 2hrs), Birmingham 1hr, so perfectly located to explore the North West of England and North Wales quickly for a weekend break.
So, here we have our 2013 Roller Team AutoRoller 746, 6 berth and 6 travelling seats, all with seat-belts.
It's a Fiat Ducato based van with a 2.3 diesel engine and a 6 speed manual gearbox. To make for easy driving so you arrive at your destination relaxed, the following list can be found up front in the cab.
- Cruise Control
- Reversing Camera
- Tire Pressure Monitoring system (pressure and heat)
- Garmin Motorhome Sat Nav, so you're safe in the knowledge it won't take you down a road too narrow
- Front and side cab blinds, for a quick stopover
- Cab Air Con
- Heated and electric mirrors
- The Motorhome is also fitted with a Cobra alarm system, to monitor all the doors and interior and a tracker if the worst should happen.
Now for the important bit, the habitation area.
As you enter the van from the off side door you immediately can see the 4 seat dinette (these 4 seats have the additional seat belts) Table will already be in place to sit and have a quick drink. Next to the dinette is a 240v socket and a USB socket to charge your devices.
Turning left, towards the rear you have the kitchen on your immediate left, comprising of a 3 burner hob, sink with hot and cold water, 3 way fridge (gas, 12v (when you're driving) and 240v). There are also 2 x 240v sockets on the work-surface, however one socket currently has a socket tester in it to ensure there is a good feed from the electric hook up.
Moving further down the van you enter the spacious U shaped lounge. The lounge coverts into a huge double bed within seconds. Under the sofa cushions there is additional storage space. There are 6 overhead lockers in the lounge, 2 x LED strip lights and importantly a pull down 21 inch digital TV. TV is fed by an automatic satellite that will extend itself and find the nearest satellite at the touch of a button.
Back to the middle of the van and opposite the kitchen is the bathroom. This offers a separate shower, sink and toilet. 240 socket in the overhead cupboard and a toilet roll cupboard behind the toilet so they don't roll all over the place when in transit. There is also lighting over the main mirror, an additional mirror on the back of the door and a towel rail neatly concealed in the ceiling near the skylight.
Opposite the dinette is a wardrobe which is home to a free standing table for the lounge area or can be used outside, along with an extension for the dinette.
The dinette seating can extend to squeeze in another two people at the table with the help of two additional pillows that can be found under the lounge seating.
Finally we have the huge over-cab bed, yes, you need to climb a ladder to get to it, but it's nice and warm and has three windows to enjoy the view from, one a front mounted skylight. There is also a USB and 240 socket next to the bed and a roof mounted light.
Additional handy features include a 240v socket near the door so you can run a lead outside if needed, a full length awning, supplied with pegs and straps to keep it safe in the wind. a gadget to help ease the filling of the fresh water tank, leveling ramps, an automatic interior fan that will either extract or bring in air depending on the required temperature, it will even close itself if it starts raining. At the back is a large storage area which is accessible either side of the van, this has the chairs and other items for your trip away, which includes a thermal windscreen cover with privacy strip to allow light in but not passers bys eyes. Also at the back is a two bike bike rack and on the roof we have a 110v solar panel to keep the batteries topped up when you're off grid.
The van obviously comes with gas and in the cupboard on the offside that contains the bottle is alsohome to the hose pipes, an outside shower and various hose fittings as we've noticed that you can never guarantee what fitting you need when you have to fill up.
Oh, almost forgot as i'm sat here writing this, its currently minus 6 outside (28th Feb) and its a toasty 22 degrees in here thanks to the diesel powered heating
This is a very luxurious, easy to drive Motorhome, simple to set up and therefore you spend more time relaxing and enjoying your time away.
