Wes Vanderson – 2 berth VW Caddy camper

Wes Vanderson is our beautifully converted VW Caddy Maxi.

My partner and I bought him during the second UK lockdown as a fun and creative project to do together and keep us sane. Since then we have traveled all over the UK from the North Coast 500 in Scotland to Lands End in Cornwall.

For us the VW Caddy Maxi truly is the ideal mini camper for short brakes. It has all the equipment that the bigger VW models have, yet it feels and drives like a car. Super easy to navigate round the small country roads and perfect for small pitch or off grid camping.

Sleeping
2 adults in a double pull out bed. The bed is a small double measuring at 180cm long x 110cm wide.

Seating
Wes can carry up to 2 passengers (driver included), 2 belted seats in the front with headrests. In the main living space, the large seating area can fit up to 4 people sociably.

Electrical
We have equipped Wes with a leisure battery for off grid electricity. There are 4 LED lights in the living space plus 2 USB charging points and a 12 volt lighter socket.
Mobile mains kit with three UK-3 Pin sockets is also provided, which has 10 Amp double pole circuit breaker and 25 Amp Residual Current Device - included to protect you and your equipment. Extra-long 15m orange lead with 240V site plug.

Cooking
We provide everything you will need for internal and al fresco dining for 2 adults. We have a double= gas burner along with a full enamel dining set of 2 bowls, 2 plates, 2 mugs and 2 sets of bamboo cutlery. We also provide 1 large frying pan, 1 saucepan, kettle, chopping board, 1 sharp knife, wooden spoon & spatula, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener and collapsible washing up bowl with carry handle.

Wes is also equipped with a 24L ECOcool electric cool box
