At the beginning of 2022, we ourselves converted this L2H2 Peugeot Boxer into a modern camper. We traveled around southern and eastern Europe with it for 6 months. We slept on beaches in Albania, in the mountains of Romania and in the center of Rome. We can therefore say with certainty that it is a very flexible, comfortable camper and fully equipped!
It is a fine and high-quality finished bus camper, which is completely self-sufficient. Perfect for wild camping, but because of the compact size you also fit in every parking space in the city. The bus itself drives very well, with cruise control, air conditioning, electric windows and is reasonably economical (1:13).
Inside there is a fully equipped luxury kitchen with refrigerator (65L) incl. freezer compartment, 2-burner stove and spacious sink with running water. There is an extra cool box under one of the seats, for things you want to keep cool but not cold.
A full set of crockery can be found in the cupboards. There are also pans, a percolator, a fast 220V kettle and a milk frother. There are always spices, oils, coffee and various teas in the bus. Apart from some fresh groceries, you don't have to stock up on anything anymore.
In the sitting area there is a handy extendable table under the bed. Because you can sit opposite each other you can play fun games. With the dimmable lighting you can always create the right atmosphere and you have enough light at night.
One of the most important things about our self-build was a long and comfortable bed. The bed is therefore a length bed. Are you ready to go to sleep? Then you slide the bed out over the sitting area and you get a bed of 1.4m wide and 2m long, with a real mattress and slatted base.
The bus is fully insulated, which keeps out heat, cold and noise. The custom-made blackout curtains ensure a good night's sleep, even if you are standing under a street lamp. Thanks to the combination of a very quiet fan and skylight with insect screen, you can sleep safely with all other windows closed, and still have sufficient cooling airflow without being bothered by mosquitoes. You can store your valuable small items in the hidden safe. A good Bluetooth speaker is also present. There are both USB connections and 220V sockets (max. 1000W). There is a Porta Potti on the bus, but also a shovel if you are more of the 'wild camping' type. The bus also has a sunshade that can be hung from the roof edge. In the storage room are two camping chairs, two folding chairs and another camping table.
The battery pack is charged with solar panels. We don't even have a power connection for the campsite, so you are obliged to use the green power :) The battery is big enough to keep the fridge cold for a few days, to run the fan and to charge your phone when you have some cloudy days.
There is a lot of storage space in the bus. In the front of the bus, but also in the storage room, perfect for people with many hobbies. In addition to all camping gear, we can easily take 3 kites and 2 more inflatable SUPs with us on holiday and there is room to hang 2 kitesurf/wakeboards. Two bicycles can be carried on the bicycle rack (total max. 30 kg).
The bus does not have a parking heater or winter tires and is therefore not suitable for driving in winter weather.
We have 2 mountain bikes and 2 inflatable SUPs with electric pump that we can rent out with the camper.
