Adventure - Buddy – VW Crafter, MTB camper, partner vacations

Functionality is very important to me - to my wife, beauty is most important. In our camper we tried to combine both as best as possible.

Our Crafter is characterized by the large rear garage, which can accommodate two mountain bikes without having to dismantle anything. There is also enough space here for all other conceivable sports equipment: surfboards, skis and snowboards, paddleboards or wakeboards, paragliders, etc. If there is still not enough space, you can also transport bicycles with a rear rack on the trailer hitch.

In the front living area there is the kitchen with gas stove and refrigerator, sink with waste and fresh water canisters, a fold-out table and a bench, under which there is also plenty of storage space. Additional storage space is located above the driver's cab, ideal for clothes, for example.

The camper has several 12V sockets and also a normal socket on the inverter. This means there is always enough power to charge cameras, cell phones and notebooks, etc. or to operate kitchen appliances. E-bikes can also be charged; you can pull a cable through the back. The second battery is charged via the solar panel on the roof and while driving, so you can be self-sufficient for several days.

The bed is very comfortable at 2.00x1.60m. If you make the most of it, you can also travel with three people in the camper by having the third person lie across the front row of seats; this is easily possible with a good sleeping pad.

The Crafter also has an auxiliary heater, which makes it the perfect companion in the off-season or even in winter. Thanks to the continuous insulation with 19mm Armaflex and an existing thermal mat for the driver's cab, we are warm enough at nights down to 0°C.

It also has another canister in the rear straight. The hose with an electric pump can be used as an outdoor shower (there is a shower curtain for hanging in the rear doors and a shower mat) and for cleaning the bicycles.
