The Beast – 3p self-built camper from 2003

A unique camper that attracts a few admirers at every campsite. Built on a 2003 Iveco Daily, which served as a UPS truck.

3 seats with seatbelts in the front. No air conditioning, but extra fans and window insulation. Radio with aux input, USB and CD (no Bluetooth).

Very spacious, with 2 double beds where you can lie in width (2m). 1 bed above the cargo area, and spacious seating area can also be converted into a double bed. In fact, 4 sleeping places, but only 3 people with seat belts can sit in the front while driving. If you are traveling with 1 or 2 people, nothing needs to be converted in the evening. (Normally not in the summer, because then you eat outside.)

Bathroom with sink and chemical toilet. Fridge on battery while driving, on gas or on mains power. Outdoor shower (10l water tank, manual inflation for pressure).

Solar panel with 100Ah battery. In the winter you have electricity for at least 3 days, in the summer almost infinitely if there is a lot of sun and the solar panel is in the sun. Charging the battery while driving is also possible, or on mains power. There is also an inverter to convert the 12V to 220V, but then you drain the battery quickly, of course.

A lot of water storage possible, enough for at least 3 days for 3 people (Max 25l in the kitchen, 13l in the bathroom, extra tank of 25l can be provided).

Lots of luggage space.

All kitchen utensils are provided.

Sun awning and LED strip outside.

Extras:
- Camping table
- 3 camping chairs
- Small table and stool
- Relax beach chair and inflatables on request
- Barbecue equipment, fire bowl,... on request
- If desired, 2 bicycles also fit in the cargo area. The rear bed can be raised (with motor) for more space. Ask about this if interested.
- Hammock that can be attached to hooks on the side of the camper (and tree or pole on the other side)
- Gas is provided, fully charged battery, tray and drying rack for dishes, lamps, first aid kit, ...

Possible downsides:
- Considering its age and weight, diesel consumption is fairly high (12l/100km)
- It is best not to drive faster than 100 km/h (usually with the trucks in the first lane)
- No air conditioning (but extra fans and insulation for driver's cabin)
- Switching is sometimes a bit stiff, but once you get to know it, it normally goes well.
